PDFResum
The southern brown shrimp Farfantepenaeus subtilis is a commercially important species along the Atlantic coast of Central and South America. This study presents the first panel of microsatellite markers developed through a double-enrichment hybridization procedure. Twenty loci were isolated and characterized from samples collected in shallow coastal waters off Ceará (Brazil). No linkage disequilibrium was detected. Alleles per locus ranged from 3 to 19. Mean observed and expected heterozygosity were 0.655 and 0.790, respectively. Thirteen loci conformed to Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Polymorphic information content ranged from 0.478 to 0.919. These microsatellites are useful for exploring fine-scale genetic structure and connectivity among populations.Cita
